This will NOT have any major impact on alleviating congestion and instead could really trigger many more people oriented projects. I am attaching a photo that I took on my flight out which clearly shows that the other bridges can do fine without this small one.”Penny McKinlayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17620842396202483336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4548876612883438064.post-9695475927927356522010-10-03T16:18:02.879-06:002010-10-03T16:18:02.879-06:00They do that here, too. Somehow eating outside with a fleece blanket around me doesn't sound as comfortable as a glassed-in patio might be.Stephanie Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03206167025245206754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4548876612883438064.post-76848361318247219192010-10-03T12:12:06.332-06:002010-10-03T12:12:06.332-06:00The problem is that urban planners are still desig...The problem is that urban planners are still designer outdoor spaces for the summer season. We need to start planning spaces for all the seasons with covered patios and heaters, playground equipment that is safe in the rain, space for piles of snow where children can safely create igloos and slides, etc.

In Copenhagen, the restaurants not only provide patio heaters - they supply blankets!Penny McKinlayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17620842396202483336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4548876612883438064.post-46629428986316075382010-10-03T10:17:45.126-06:002010-10-03T10:17:45.126-06:00You know, this is an interesting concern. The town square is busy all summer long - as long as the sun shines.
But now with the weather getting cooler it's less inviting for people to sit, stroll or even shop outside. This is a source of frustration for those merchants who long to have a vibrant center.Stephanie Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03206167025245206754noreply@blogger.com
